Inmates are often eager to find partners, but are there any prisons that can provide them with an alternative? A recent article in Love A Prisoner magazine noted that men often find women on the outside through inmate dating websites. These sites are a great way for men to find women who share their values and lifestyles. Here are a few examples of inmates looking for love and marriage on the outside:
Love-A Prisoner
Dating a prisoner for marriage is an interesting challenge because it is not easy to get the permission of the jailer to meet the people you know. The prisoner may be sympathetic and you might want to be there for them but he can not tell you who he has been dating before his crime. It’s therefore important to communicate clearly and maintain an open line of communication. The prisoner’s happiness is your priority.
According to Elaine Aron, a psychologist, “loving a prisoner is a unique challenge.” She explains that a person with a highly sensitive personality (HSP) tends to be more emotional than other people. Moreover, he or she is prone to overstimulation and struggles with intimate attachments. Despite the difficulty of dating a prisoner, Aron believes that the HSP will find fulfillment in a relationship that contains defined boundaries and predictable dynamics.
Inmate Passions
According to Dr. Robert Sternberg, a former president of the University of Wyoming and current professor of human development at Cornell, women who fall in love with a prisoner’s boyfriend are less likely to end up in a violent relationship. But for women who are concerned about their safety, falling in love with a prisoner may offer a new type of freedom. Unlike traditional relationships, a relationship with a prisoner is safe and exciting and doesn’t involve any of the normal risks and pitfalls associated with commitment.
Prison dating websites offer a unique opportunity to connect with women in prison. Women Behind Bars allows users to write to and become pen pals with other women who have been imprisoned. The website’s mission statement describes women as “a ray of hope” for inmates who are in need of emotional support. The site also offers a chat function where members can talk to inmates through private emails and private forums. While inmate dating websites may be a great way to meet a potential soul mate, there are also plenty of scams and heartbreaks that come with them.
Phaedra Parks
In the latest season of Marriage Boot Camp, Phaedra Parks plays a female inmate searching for a marriage. Phaedra is also active in the Black Lives Matter movement and has been involved in protests against police brutality. She is also a licensed mortician and recently presided over the funeral of Rayshard Brooks, a black man shot and killed by a police officer last June.
During the filming, Phaedra and Medina were reportedly four months into their relationship. They met through a dating app and were introduced by a mutual friend. In the meantime, Phaedra split from Chicago radio DJ Tone Kapone, her first serious relationship since her divorce last year. Phaedra was already divorced when her husband, Apollo Nida, was sent to prison. The couple had two sons together.
Sheree Whitfield
The female inmate Sheree Whitfield is looking for marriage with convicted fraudster Tyrone Gilliams. The two were jailed together for two years and Whitfield has revealed that she is still in love with him. Tyrone could have spent two more years behind bars, but Whitfield decided she couldn’t wait that long. Now that Gilliams is out of prison, he’s ready to wed Whitfield.
During the filming of Love & Marriage: Huntsville, Sheree Whitfield and Martell Holt were spotted in public. The two met through a mutual friend and introduced each other to their family and friends. The two have been casually dating for two months and were recently spotted holding hands at a public restroom. Martell also opened the door for Whitfield in the video.
Sally
Sally is a female inmate who spent most of her adult life in jail. She started in juvenile hall in 1972 and ended up in a county jail in 2005. Before she was incarcerated, Sally was a homeless heroin addict and a sex worker. She had been arrested for fraud, drug possession, and weapons offenses in several states. But in 2002, she finished college and founded the Way Pass program to help other former inmates find jobs and support.
Sally Conforte married a showgirl from the Riverside Hotel in 1942, and after the divorce, she returned to her maiden name, Burgess. She was later sentenced to probation and a fine for the crime, and she and her husband were hit by the IRS with heavy fines. Ultimately, they fled to Brazil, where Sally is now living. The movie “Love Ranch” starred Helen Mirren as Sally Confort.
Jeremy Meeks
Jeremy Meeks is a convicted felon who recently filed for legal separation from his wife, Melissa. This was in order to keep his assets separate from Melissa. The divorce was announced after photos of Jeremy Meeks and Ashley Green went viral. Melissa Meeks had previously revealed that her husband was cheating on her and had planned to file for divorce after the photos went viral. But, Melissa Meeks has since admitted that she was “blindsided” by Jeremy’s cheating behavior.
The two have recently been linked to Chloe Green, an ex-topshop heiress who is a former inmate. They were spotted canoodling on a yacht in Bodrum, Turkey, and the pair are now dating. But it seems Jeremy was already involved in another scandal when they were arrested and sentenced to prison. His ex-wife has also been open about Jeremy’s infidelity, revealing that he has been cheating on his wife for years. Jeremy Meeks was convicted of a weapons violation in 2015 and sentenced to two years in federal prison, but only served one year. He was released from prison in March 2016 after serving one year.
