In a social group, there is a sociosexual hierarchy that determines how males and females are ranked in sex. Males are typically classified as Alpha, Beta, Epsilon, or Gamma.
The Alpha male is the alpha male, and the Beta male is second in command. The Beta male carries out the alpha’s orders and acts as an enforcer. The Beta male is often close to the alpha and is his trusted confidant. In any hierarchy, the Beta male serves a crucial role.
Alpha male
The Alpha male in a sociosexual hierarchy is a male character who dominates and rules his group. He is often the role model for others. Examples of alpha males include Dominic Toretto in the Fast and Furious series, Danny Ocean in Ocean’s Eleven, Maverick in Top Gun, and Don Vito Corleone in The Godfather.
The Alpha male is the most successful, charismatic, and dominant man in a sociosexual hierarchy. He is the king and is the most popular among his peers. There is also a type of alpha male called a sigma male, who is similar to an alpha male but is a lone wolf.
Beta male
The Beta male is second in the sociosexual hierarchy to the alpha male. Often the second most dominant male in a group, the Beta male’s role is to enforce the alpha’s orders and make sure they are carried out. While the Beta male may not be the most attractive, he is usually very loyal and close to the alpha.
While the Alpha male is the top of the social hierarchy, the Beta male is almost equally attractive to women. Although they are both confident, they prefer to be loners, without the social rules that the alpha abides by. These males are sometimes perceived as threats by alphas because they do not conform to the social rules and hierarchy. However, Sigma males are just as appealing to women as Alphas.
Epsilon male
The Epsilon male is one of the most powerful and successful males in the sociosexual hierarchy. This type of male is the backbone of the hierarchy, contributing to society’s progress and well-being. It is also the most likely type of male to move up or down the social dominance hierarchy. Another type of male is the gamma male, a more intellectual and romantic type who has a lower status. They aspire to be leaders and are often jealous of alpha males.
The Epsilon male is almost equal to the Alpha male on the sociosexual hierarchy. Although they share many similarities with the Alpha male, they are not as outgoing, as they don’t seek attention or play by the rules of the social hierarchy. As a result, these types of males can be considered threats by the alpha male. However, they do share some of the characteristics of the Alpha male, and women find them just as attractive as the Alpha male.
Gamma male
The Gamma male is the fifth type of man in the sociosexual hierarchy. He is an intellectual, romantic and ideologically driven man. He holds a lower rank in the hierarchy than the Alpha male, and is the least likely to become a leader. Gammas are often envious of alphas. Although he is less common, the Gamma male is still an important part of the social hierarchy.
A Gamma male is a great friend and a pleasure to be around. He is also comfortable in his gender and enjoys taking care of himself. However, his nice guy syndrome can make women uncomfortable. According to Robert A. Glover, “It’s a shame that women don’t like nice guys. The good news is that men who are comfortable with their gender don’t like to be labelled as such.”
Xi male
In the sociosexual hierarchy, a male’s position on the pyramid is determined by his personality type. In general, the higher the ranking, the more sexually attractive and powerful a person is. There are seven male personality types. An Alpha male has a very dominant personality, is highly attractive, and is the most powerful man in a society. An Omega male is more introverted and cares less about the social order, but is still very alluring.
The Xi male is the natural leader of the hierarchy and is the most powerful. He has a Napoleon Complex and is very angry, even to the point of self-harm. He has had poor experiences with women and uses his power and influence to rule over women. However, he is not the only leader. His subordinates are the Epsilon males, who are powerful and often have spiritual beliefs.
Delta male
In the sociosexual hierarchy, the Delta male is the most important role. They are the ones who show up at work, contribute to society, and keep things moving. They define the success of organizations and the smooth operation of hierarchical groups. Therefore, a better hierarchy needs to care about the deltas.
Delta males are emotional people who need affection and love. They can be lonely if they don’t get it from other people. In the past, they might have been an alpha male. This can lead to resentment for other people who haven’t reciprocated their feelings.
